SA Snapper tagging program

SA Red Taggers has been established to preserve Snapper in South Australia.  The club is an ANSA approved club that will primarily tag Snapper to monitor the movements and growth rates of this magnificent fish.  The goal of the club is to be at the forefront of angling clubs in Australia, by posting members photos of captures, and their videos of captures including the tagging of fish on the SART Website.

This club has been set up for passionate snapper anglers who want to protect Snapper into the future!  As the club is operated under ANSA guidelines, the focus of tagging over time will be on safe fish handling, correct recording of Data, and the timely forwarding of Data to SAFTAG.

This is going to be an exciting first year for the club, as it will allow members with a similar passion to be able to meet and socialise with other likeminded Snapper anglers.  Although our goal is to gain as many re-captures as we can in the near future, we are also aware that it may take some time before fish are re-captured. If tagging snapper has been a dream of yours please feel free to visit us at:

Purefishing will be keeping its readers posted on recent captures and any recaptures as they come to hand.
