The last blog detailed the new and exciting release of the Limited Edition Revo baitcaster reels.

This blog details another new Revo that will be a standard stock model.

The new Orra SX and STX low profile reels boast many of the exceptional features found on the more expensive versions, such as the one piece anti-distortion alloy frame, powerful carbon matrix drag, 7+1 bearings, standard 6’4:1 ratio and fast cast thumbar.

This new model comes in at around the low $200′s retail and features a new spool/casting control.

Situated in the left side plate [fast take down] is a plate on the spool end that has six brake tabs that are selectable in two formats.
Three tabs are marked “PITCH” and three tabs are blank. The Pitch tabs are selectable as free floating brake blocks and will activate as soon as the spool is engaged in the cast. These tabs are best suited to casting light weights as they will exert spool control at slower spool speeds and lower inertia.
The three unmarked tabs can be activated for heavier weight casting where spool speeds and inertia is higher for longer. These tabs are spring loaded and require the higher spool speed to operate.
Both sets can be activated in tandem for ultimate spool control, and in conjunction with the right side plate spool control knob, overrun should be all but eliminated.

Nice looking reel, affordable and functional. Expect to see these reels in stores by mid June 09.
