Anthony Wishey

Anthony has got competitive fishing running through his blood as he started competitive fishing with the Victory Amateur Fishing as an eight year old. Wishey was Junior Champion from 1983 to 1986, Reserve Grade Champion from 1989 to 1991 and was competing in A Grade since 1992, finally winning the A Grade and Club Championship in 1997 and 1999, as well as the Alvey Angling Excellence Award three times in 1991, 1997 and 1999. Wish has represented South East Queensland at State Titles and Queensland at Australian Titles in Estuary and Surf fishing.

Since 2004 Wishey has had steady rise in the ABT catch and release BREAM lure fishing competitions. No more digging worms or yabbies for Wishey. In four years Wishey has had 24 top ten placing in Teams and Individual Bream Events. Wish paired up with Rob Kwiatkowski to win the Queensland Polycraft Summer Series overall in 2006, and later that year finished in 4th place in his first ABT Grand final at Ballina. In 2007 the highlight of the year was winning the inaugural Queensland Bream Open at the Tinnie and Tackle show with his best mate Chris (Spoon-man) Britton. Wish and Chris achieved back to back victories at Queensland Bream Open at the Tinnie and Tackle show in 2008.
