Pat Sullivan

Since the first ABT BREAM classic in 2004 I have been a regular at both classic and qualifier events. I have been fortunate to fish with and  meet a lot of great guys and anglers though these events. As an individual my highest achievement was winning the 2008 St Helens ABT BREAM qualifier in quite testing conditions. To stick to a game plan and catch fish when they were hard to come by was extremely satisfying.

Socially I will fish for anything that has fins!  More often than not I spend my time targeting black bream in any of Tasmania's coastal estuaries or trout in the highland lakes. We are lucky to have possible the best bream and trout waters in the whole of Australia.

As an angler I always look forward to trying new lures and techniques to further develop my fishing arsenal. I don't think I have spent a day on the water when I haven't learnt something new! I think this is what brings me back again and again.

See you on the water!

  • First Fish - More than likely a flathead!

  • Favourite style - Sight fishing with soft plastics or hard bodied lures.

  • Favourite waterways - Just about any of Tasmania's east coast estuaries when chasing bream or Great Lake when chasing trout in the highlands.

  • Most memorable catch - A 44.5cm to fork black bream in a couple of feet of water.

  • Favourite music - Almost anything that's not too heavy or pop!

  • Interest outside of fishing - I play basketball in the local men's league, which helps me stay in shape. I run the website www.sportsfishtasmania.com which takes up a fair chunk of time. I also enjoy snorkelling for abalone on Tasmania's east coast or just relaxing in the sun.
