Color me up!!

Hey snapper heads,

Did you know that you can color your own Gulp!
Oh yes, yes, yes you can!! And just how easy is it Dr Royter??
It's as easy as tootaling off down to the shops and picking up yourself a bottle or three of un-flavored food dye. If you get the 3 primary colors (red, blue and green)then your set to create almost ever color under the sun!
Then all you need to do is either dip individual Gulp! baits in the bottles or just put a few drops into a bag. It's that easy!!
So knock yourself right out and get into the customizing of your own baits. Its great fun and can turn the tables on those scaly blighters we love to chase.

Cheers

Clear Water Weapons!

Hold the phone!!!
I've just got confirmation that a new range of PowerBait Power Minnows Have arrived.
There specialty is for work in extreme clear water situation! The minnows are all very natualised in there coloration with lots of clear involved. The samples I've seen look awesome!!
There's 4 new colors and they come in 3" and 4". They have no 'Scales' (that glitter that's inside the pack, that gets all over you and makes you look really sexy when you go to get your lunch at the shop after a days fishing) and from memory only one of them has any 'fleck' inside the body material!
You should start to see them in stores from next week (01/06/06).

Spook me up Scotty

Clear Gulp!

Well my fishy friends, it's almost upon us! 'Clear' Gulp! is a reality and what it will do to the world of fishing as we know it, might just be something really positive!
We all know that Gulp! baits are ace right! But PowerBait has always had the edge when it comes to looking 'more realistic'! With its clearish material it has always stood well and above the realism that you could get out of the Gulps! more solid, non-translucent looking material. Well not any more!!!

Stand back and prepare to go "oooooow" and then "aaarrrrrrrr" as your local tackle shop try to keep it on the shelves!

According to the monkeys it should be in stores about July.

Three words..... HOT DIGGITY DOG!

Tooling up for Tassie

I was lucky (or as all of my mates would have you know, unlucky) enough to get married a couple of weeks ago and have just spent the last 2 weeks in Tassie (I'm actuarially still here!!).
I managed to sneak a couple of rods in to the car (as if I wasn't going to) for the trip cause I just knew there would be an opportunity to have a fish somewhere in the apple isle.
First port of call was a morning on the Great Lake with an old mate Steve 'Steersie' Steer. The lake was as flat as a crap carters hat and the wind was a chilly 3 degrees and about 5 to 10 knots. After about 3 hours we had 7 trout in the boat with the best nudging just under 4 pounds.
We caught most of them on the new 3" Craw (this thing is so hot) which just looked like it was going get them on from the off set! Using 1/16oz size 1 Nitro jigheads and camo & pumpkinseen colored craw's we worked the edges of islands and some of the shore line in the north of the lake.

That done I had some down time (time spent with the family) till I was meet with the mighty Derwent River in Hobart. HOLY SH*T!!!!!!! This place is just cranking with bream!!!!! To give you an idea, I stood on the one rock (that's right trend setters, stood in the one spot) and caught 12 bream from 800g to about 1.3kg inside 1 hour and all within walking distance from the room. And the next day I fished from a boat!! Jeeessssssssssaassss!!!!!!!!!
I can't even try to explain who good this fishing is but to keep it simple, Steersie and I put a bag of 5 together that weight 7.1kg........ and talking to Steersie, that was a pretty crap days fishing!
Highlight for me was listening to Steersie tell me about the bad luck things that have happened to him when he's fished this river in the past and then seeing him slip and fall in and the boat ramp right in front of me...... hahahahahaha still laughin old mate....... sorry!
I fished a few moring by myself and caught some lovely big bream and every time I put the hooks in I couldn't help but smile and think how untouched and awesome this fishery is and the potential it has.
I'll post some photo's as soon as I work out how!

Berkley plastics and Tassie where a hit for me and if your heading down there soon and want some local info, call in and see Steerie at GotOne in Launceston, cause he's da man!!!!

Cheers & beers
